Hideki Tarui - paintings
Hiromart Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Charm Point, an exhibition of new paintings by Hideki Tarui, Tokyo based Japanese artist.
Hideki Tarui expresses abstract space in his paintings by focusing his intuitive judgment.
While producing the work, he makes impromptu response to bring out his own three-dimensions vibe, by keeping this way he builds motives in the abstract.
This is his debut show at Hiromart Gallery and the show features paintings from his latest project “Coloring”.

Artist Statement on Charm Point:
This group of new works showing at this exhibition is paintings from my project “Coloring”.
“Coloring” is a series of painting that the process is similar to coloring by starting with redrawing of a sketch I made at any other locations or times, on a canvas to painting/coloring on it.
In these “Coloring” are based on my drawings of abstract space so that the outline are unclear and shapes and background are also vague. With that, sometimes texture brings unexpected changes to images. To breakthrough the images, I make an impromptu response to the state of moment-to-moment basis.
