Sachie Kashima - Paintings

Hiromart Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of The Shapes, an exhibition of paintings by Sachie Kashima. This is her first solo-exhibition at Hiromart Gallery, following well-received 2 artists show held last year.

The exhibition features new works especially made for this show.

Sachie Kashima is known as a surreal painter with color composition. In these new series of works, she explores shapes and focus on the color relationships to give vigor and new energy to a painting.

Artist Statement for The Shapes

When I am producing a painting, I picture a shape in mind then expand it to the image. Starting with various shapes, it can be a shape of a person or some such a shapes of a plant or a creature, or a shape that express myself. When I see these shapes lively moves on a canvas and there is vitality in a painting, it induces a feeling of happiness.

Sachie Kashima

Born in Saitama in 1979.

Currently lives and works in Tokyo.

Graduated from the Musashino Art University, painting in 2002.

She has exhibited her works at group shows and solo-show since 2005.

This is her debut solo-show with Hiromart Gallery following 2 artists show: Freedom held in 2014.
