Artist Statement on The Voice of Shellfish:
With a vague image, I start to draw on a copperplate. Little by little, in the process of cutting, I get a firm image affected by unexpected erosion and its opposite images through test prints. It’s like a dialogue with myself when starting to draw and the image made on the copperplate.

Born in Aichi pref. in 1980. He studied painting at Kanazawa College of Art in Ishikawa pref., and graduated in 2004. He is an active artist who makes oil paintings and copperplate prints. As for the painting, he paints a variety of a man’s forms inspired by viewing himself in a mirror. In contrast with painting, he takes a certain amount of Creative enjoyment in the print itself with out the benefit of viewing the accuracy of the image until it is finished being printed.
In producing these two different types of works, he balances the process of hardness and softness.
