Kikuko Sakota - Solo Show
Summer Symphony
Kikuko Sakota
Hiromart Gallery is delighted to present Summer Symphony - the second solo show of Kikuko Sakota, who works internationally.
Following her debut at the gallery in 2024, this exhibition features new works that she pursued with an interplay of color harmony, inviting one to explore playful finds through daily life.
Kikuko Sakota’s inspiration is obtained from the simple pleasures of everyday life. As it is also a universal theme, we hope viewers get their own poetic interpretations through this group of abstract pieces.

Artist Statement on Summer Symphony:
When rain falls in the season of fresh verdure, I am aware that the summer which sheds the torrent of light is approaching, and I feel uplifted. In my neighbors’ yards, Sunflowers and gladiolus bloom alone, yet they face the azure sky. It seems like the sunflowers are looking at me, so that makes me smile. When morning glories and roses came into my sight, I almost missed them when I hurried by, and I looked back at those days with nostalgia. While having a glass of ginger ale filled with lemons, and enjoying the cool air in a coffee shop in the evening, I feel refreshed. The seasons come and go, and small everyday occurrences weave my times and colors on canvas. Eternal memories of moments move freely in time and space in my heart, and live like an impressive landscape. The theme of this exhibition is Summer Symphony, I am expressing abstract art through the harmony of summer colors.
