Sachie Kashima - paintings
Hiromart Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Tankaholic, an exhibition of paintings by Sachie Kashima. This is her second solo show at Hiromart Gallery following her favorably received show The Shapes held in 2015.
The show features new paintings especially made for this show. Kashima’s inspiration for these new works came from her thoughts to Tanka and Waka, traditional Japanese poetry.

Artist Statement
I found some parallels in process and style to Waka and Tanka, traditional Japanese poetry, that express thoughts and words from everyday life. Tanka that composes ever changing mind, feeling of love, and nature. I immersed to it and touched, sympathized and imagined while producing these each paintings.
