Artist Statement:

I make paintings of my imaginary game scenes based on the inspiration of video games from my childhood. Nowadays, it’s called retro games. To transform these paintings into works of art, I’m injecting my knowledge into the work. What I have been thinking recently is that if you follow your instinct, this is the pattern, “Be-afraid, then Become-aggressive, and finally, Knock-opponent-down.” This pattern also becomes amusements. This rule can also be adapted to video games and I enjoy that as well. My paintings reflect this theory. However, if you show aggression in the real world, it can be pretty much a big problem. In the actual world of today, I tell myself, “Don’t be afraid.” This is the title for this exhibition.
