Winter Show

Josephine Rossing, Masanobu Sakakibara

Hiromart Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the gallery’s annual project Winter Show. The exhibition this time features Josephine Rossing and Masanobu Sakakibara’s works on paper.

Josephine Rossing is a Tokyo-based Swedish artist whose her first solo show with us was presented in Spring, which featured works on paper. Rossing’s source of inspiration comes from her life experiences, places she has been, and things she has experienced and seen. She depicts those images from her memories, adding light, sounds, and colors. By doing this, she produces alternative images based on actual images. For this show, a selection of her small works on paper will be on exhibit.

We have been presenting Masanobu Sakakibara’s paintings both on canvas and on paper in recent years. Sakakibara pursues the depiction of imaginary video game scenes with rich, deep colors, as well as light and dark shadows by using traditional painting techniques. Through this show, we focus on his selected and new paintings on paper.

This exhibition is an introduction to each of these two artists, and these works will relate to their next solo exhibitions.
